Spring Karate Challenge

The United Challenge was the UFMA in-house karate tournament that was held annually in April. Many students looked forward to this day to showcase their talents with their techniques, kata, sparring, and/or self defense. It was a great opportunity for students to build their confidence performing in front of a crowd, to receive positive feedback on their performance from the judges, and to have fun with their instructors outside of class.

Good News!! We are going to host our own Dundurn Spring Challenge for our students! On Saturday May 1st, beginning at 1 pm, we will run a Spring Karate Challenge over Zoom for students to perform in front of the instructors and other participants. The instructors will provide positive feedback to the participants, and it will be a great way to build confidence by performing for fellow students and family. We may also have a few guest performances as well!

Students can choose (up to 2 choices) what they want to do for the challenge: techniques (3 from belt level), routine, kata. Students can practice what they wish to perform during classes and instructors can help them with how to announce what they will perform. All participants will receive a participation medal, specifically created for our challenge. Please fill out the participation form to let us know who is participating and what they will be performing. This will also allow us to send out the Zoom link to all participants.

We look forward to seeing our students perform their favourite elements of karate 🙂
